WhatsApp Wrapped: Your Chat's Year in Numbers
There's no official WhatsApp Wrapped, but you can make one for any chat: total messages, voice-note counts, your busiest day, the longest silence, who starts conversations, and the year's key moments.
Check the first and last dates in the export before selecting a year. A date filter cannot restore messages missing from the file.
The stats that make a good Wrapped #
From an export, Zap2Doc Insights counts:
- Total messages, and messages per person;
- Voice notes: how many in total and per person;
- Photos and videos sent;
- The busiest day: the date and how many messages (usually a trip, a party, or a crisis);
- The longest silence: how many days, starting when;
- Who starts conversations and median reply time for each person;
- Time of day and day of week: night owls vs. early birds;
- Days with messages and the average per active day.

The story of the year #
Numbers are half a Wrapped. The other half is what happened. The Insights briefing adds a timeline of the year’s significant moments, each linked to its message, and the themes you kept coming back to. Voice notes are transcribed, so the stories told in audio count too.

- Export the chat (chat name → Export chat), with media if you want voice notes counted (Android, iPhone).
- Upload it and set the date range to the year.
- Screenshot your favorite numbers and send them to the chat.
Share responsibly #
The numbers are fun to share; the messages are private. Post the stats, keep the PDF. And if your Wrapped says one person sent 70% of the messages, that’s a joke for the group, not a verdict.
